Grand Canyon Backpacking: Hermit Trail

Our Grand Canyon backpacking guides will take you down the Hermit Trail where you will experience solitude at its finest. This more arduous journey will take us 8 miles into the canyon past the exquisite Santa Maria Spring and down the Cathedral Stairs to the Hermit Campground on Hermit Creek. This spring fed creek oasis hosts crystal clear swimming holes and lush vegetation.

On day two we continue through a water filled corridor to the Hermit Rapids located on the Colorado River where we will spend some time relaxing before returning to camp. The third day we will wake up early to begin the challenging 8 mile, 4000 foot elevation push to the Grand Canyon's South Rim. Absolutely spectacular! Days may be added at an additional cost. Call us for more details.
